The Board would like to comment as follows: “The use of this land as an open air storage compound has been a constant source of annoyance to the Board of Commissioners due to the mud left on the road by the applicant’s vehicles and more recently noise from their machinery. The Commissioners have contacted the owners of the land , Nobles Hospital, on numerous occasions over the past year, in an attempt to have the contractor and his equipment removed. They have also submitted a series of complaints to Mr Kneen and Ms Gat from Planning Enforcement, the most recent June 2020, about this site. The reference given was 19/00105/comp The Board wish to object to the planning application on the grounds that the site is not zoned for the storage of equipment and building and is therefore contrary to the 1991 Braddan Local Plan and Environment Policy 22 of the Strategic Plan. They have not seen any Environmental Impact Assessment and the application is also in breach of Environment Policy 24. They would also comment that the land has been zoned for residential use in the Area Plan for the East which is to be debated at the October sitting of Tynwald”. Hope that’s ok.
