RE: PA 20/00558/B Installation of replacement windows 21 (sic) Derby Road, Douglas. In the applicant's e-mail of 25^{\text {th }} May he clearly states that he made a mistake on the forms and the site of the application is in fact 19, Derby Road. It has been advertised as 21. In the event of the application being re-advertised our comments remain the same. The property is situated within the Windsor Road Conservation Area. The replacement windows to the ground and first floor on the front elevation should be of the sliding sash variety irrespective of material. The windows on the second floor should be casement windows divided into two with one side opening as originally installed in Windsor Terrace. It is important to turn the tide of inappropriate window design, much of which either occurred before the establishment of some of the Conservation Areas or without planning consent. Recent applications 20/00483/B and 20/00486/B set the standards for Conservation Areas. Redacted Caseworker Isle of Man Victorian Society.
