Dear Sir/Madam, Appeal Ref; AP26/0001
Tel: (01624) 685950 Email: [email protected]
Date 15/01/2026
PA No: 25/90937/B Proposal: Installation of 2 telegraph poles to provide fibre optic connectivity Address: to 12, 14, 15, 16 and 18 Barrule Park, Ramsey.
This statement relies upon the Planning Officer’s original report which is online and forms part of the planning file.
The reason stated for this appeal is with regard to visual impact of the proposed wooden telegraph poles on the character of the street scene.
Paragraphs 6.12 – 6.22 of the case officers report assesses the level of visual impact and is also a specific reason for refusal as noted on the decision notice at R2.
Reference to a previous refused planning application (ref:25/90376/B) is made throughout the case officers report and specifically referenced at paragraph 3.4 with regard to a previous appeal (ref AP25/0024) decision which can be found online for reference;

Should the inspector be minded to approve the proposals the Department would suggest the following conditions;
- Condition 1 – Standard Four years to commence
- Condition 2 – Removal of the wooden telegraph poles if no longer needed. ‘Unless otherwise approved in writing by the Department, any telecommunications cabinet, mounted equipment or wooden telegraph poles must be removed from the land on which it is situated, within 6 months of it no longer being required for telecommunications purposes, and such land must be restored to its condition before the development took place, so far as
is practicable. Reason: To ensure that any redundant infrastructure is removed and to comply with Strategic Plan Infrastructure Policy 3’. Yours sincerely, Jason Singleton
