This facility is part of the Programme For Government set by Tynwald in 2016/17 and will provide
first-time treatment for the sewage from the Laxey catchment area. It will utilise IRBC rotating disc
type treatment facilities, with further 6mm screens and UV treatment for all flows including storm
conditions. This new sewage treatment works will be installed adjacent to and replacing the existing
sewage storage tank on the site. It will normally be unlit and unmanned at night. A new bridge to
the site to provide vehicular access will be provided.
