DNO on 25-9-18 Conditions (if any) The location of the site cannot be identified from the location plan provided as it does not show a sufficient area surrounding the site with road names. The application states that the existing garage would be converted and extended to provide a new 1 bedroom apartment to enable a member of domestic staff to live on the site. The application states that the proposals would not change the existing site access arrangements. The parking standards in 'The Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2016' require 1 car parking space for a 1 bedroom dwelling and 2 spaces for a 2+ bedroom dwelling. A total of 3 spaces are therefore needed on the site, with the parking for the main dwelling separate and not obstructed by the parking for the new dwelling and vice versa, so the dwellings could operate independently in the future if necessary. The existing plan shows that there should be adequate space on the site for sufficient parking and site turning for both dwellings to accord with the parking standards and therefore the loss of the existing garage is deemed acceptable.
