Recreation Policy 2
Policy RP2 presumes against loss of playing fields. Officer assessed that camping is temporary and incidental, with site remaining recreation-focused most of the year; income supports club reinvestment, so no significant adverse effect on sports provision.
Environment Policy 16
Encourages tourist developments in existing buildings. No Strategic Plan policies directly guide event camping, but temporary sites on sports pitches accepted where needed; this extends prior approval with added Southern 100.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
No extension of lighting or clubhouse hours
No approval is hereby granted or implied to any extension of the times of the illumination of the lighting or the use of the clubhouse approved on the site under 11/01781/B and 10/01871/B respectively. Reason: to ensure that the operation of the campsite does not result in any adverse impact on the living conditions of those in the adjacent residential properties.
Limited to event periods
The camp site may be available for use no earlier than the day before the first practice associated with the TT, Southern 100 and Manx Grand Prix/Festival of Motorcycling races and up to the day after the last race in each case: the camp site may be erected within three days before this and taken down within three days after this with the site available for recreation uses in between those events and times. Reason: to ensure that the camp site is an incidental use of the site which should remain available for recreation purposes.
