The proposed development is a pipe sleeve type service bridge to be attached to the west (upstream) side of the Stone Road Bridge over Laxey River. The service bridge sleeve will carry 4 no. utility services over the river consisting of a 100 mm diameter water main and an 80mm gas main. Other services include low voltage electric, street lighting cable, telecom cable and fibre optic cable all in separate small diameter ducts within the sleeve. The services cannot be buried within the bridge due to the insufficient depth of cover. The proposed services will replac eexisting infrastructure that is in poor condition due to its age. The pipe sleeve will be concrete surrounded and will be supported on concrete abutment extensions to the existing bridge. Surface finishes chosen to be in keeping with the character of the area and a Manx slate covering to the concrete services beam. 13.
