Housing Policy 15
Housing Policy 15 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 states that the extension or alteration of existing traditionally styled properties in the countryside will normally only be approved where these respect the proportion, form and appearance of the existing property, and only exceptionally where they exceed 50% of the existing building in terms of floor space. The officer assessed the modest extension as in keeping with the dwelling's character, not unduly affecting amenity, and according with the policy. The site is in open space/agricultural and high landscape value areas under the Laxey and Lonan Area Plan 2005.
