We have followed the Residential Design Guide and have set back the extension from the existing front elevation to appear subordinate to the existing house. The extension has the same roof pitch and shape as the existing dwelling and the height is lower than that of the main building. We have also had extensive discussions and an agreement on the size of the extension with Manx Utilities as their surface water main runs through the owners garden.
