RE: Planning Application 23/01054/B 31 Carrick Park Sulby Isle Of Man IM7 2EY We are the applicants and have noted the comments from DOI Flood Risk Management Division recommending “…that appropriate flood mitigations are taken. These include, where possible raising the threshold above known flood limits, installing flood resilient doors and ensuring that all electrical installations are from above.” Please could you note that number 31 enjoys a slightly elevated position compared to most of the neighbouring properties and we are advised by both the vendor and neighbours that it was one of the few properties to escape the flooding in December

2000. We understand that there have been no instances of flooding either before or since at this address and presumably the likelihood of further flooding has been reduced by the flood alleviation measures, along with improved management of the Sulby river which are now in place. There are therefore no ‘known flood limits’ for this property. We are however keenly aware of environmental changes and have asked our architect and builders to consider your comments where practically possible. We will also look into the costs of having a survey of the property levels relative to the surrounding area undertaken to ascertain the flood risk.
