MER hedgerow notes: Hedgerow adjacent of Manx Electric Railway line to be a mixture of:

- • Holly (Ilex aquifolium)– Height up to 15m
- • Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa)- Heights between 6-7m
- • Common Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna)- Height up to 15m

And to be planted at 200mm centres. Feature planting notes: Feature planting to be made up of the following species:

- • Snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) - Heights up to 250mm
- • Chiltern gentian (Gentianella germanica) - Heights up to 500mm
- • Germander speedwell (Veronica chamaedrys) - Heights up to 200mm
- • Sea Holly (eryngium maritimum) - Heights between 200 -600mm
- • Goldmoss/biting stonecrop (Sedum acre) - Heights up to 100mm
- • Tormentil (Potentilla erecta) - Heights up to 300mm

Shrub mix: To be planted at 1m c/c in single species groups of 5 -15nr. Bulb mix: To be planted randomly in single species swathes of 25-50nr. Bark mulch: All beds to have 50mm layer of bark mulch. Trees in grass to be planted in 1000mm ring of bark mulch as per specification. Staking generally: All trees to include short double timber stakes. Root barriers: Root barriers to be installed when tree and shrub planting is proposed within 5mtrs of utilities. Wildflower seeding: Wildflower seeding to be supplied by Manx Wildlife Trust (Wildflowers of Man)
