OPTION 01

2.0 OPTION 01

2.1 CONCEPT SKETCHES

Option 01 provides a stand alone shelter along Loch Promenade which extends the public realm out of Villiers Square and aids the key connection through to the Square. This acts as a key marker on the promenade reinforcing this key route.

The shelter would be constructed of a similar material to the front Loch Promenade elevation, with complimentary accents in warm timber and contrasting metal. The orientation of the bus shelter allows for good visibility and easy access to the bus. The shelter would also be orientated to minimise the strong sea winds and provide a comfortable space.

The form of the shelter reflects key architectural elements of the Villiers Square proposal and gives a subtle nod to the historic trams on

OPTION 02

## 3.1 Concept Sketches

- A B
- B

Option 02 proposes a bus shelter integrated to the fabric of the building. This provides a unique shelter for Douglas and the structure does not impose onto Loch Promenade and block pedestrian flow.

The shelter would use the same material palette as the proposed building formed of stone or pre-fabricated panels embossed with suitable signage for Villiers Square. This unique shelter would comprise of a palette of complimentary materials including warm timbers and textured stones, creating a comfortable and convenient space.

The shelter would frame key views from this location whilst sheltering users from the prevailing winds off the sea allowing visibility and easy access to the bus.
