### Officer's Report

## THE APPLICATION SITE AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

The application site comprises of land within the former Jurby Airfield in Jurby.

The proposed development comprises the siting of temporary portacabins, a new access to paddock area and the erection of a building on the application site.

## PLANNING HISTORY

Whilst the application site has been the subject of a number of previous planning applications it is considered that none of these are specifically material to the assessment of this current planning application.

REPRESENTATIONS Jurby Parish Commissioner has no objections to the planning application. The Department of Transport Highways Division do not oppose the planning application. The Department of Transport Drainage Division do not oppose the planning application. PLANNING POLICY

In terms of land use designation, the application site is located within a wider area of land that is designated as airfield under the Isle of Man Development Plan Order 1982.

In terms of strategic plan policy, it is considered that there are no policies within the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 that are specifically material to the assessment of this current planning application.

## Assessment

The planning application seeks approval for the siting of temporary portacabins, a new access to paddock area and the erection of a building on the application site. The proposed development is related to the existing motor sport development contained within the application site.

Given that the proposed development is related to existing motor sport development and relatively modest it is considered that its impact is suitably limited.

It is recommended that the planning application be approved.

## Party Status

It is considered that the following parties that made representations to the planning application meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status:

Jurby Parish Commissioner; The Department of Transport Highways Division; and The Department of Transport Drainage Division.
