Land Use Zoning / Planning Policy The property has been zoned under The Onchan Local Plan Order 2000 as being within an area of "predominately residential"; the site is neither within a Conservation Area nor within an area of High Landscape Value or Costal Value and Scenic Significance. - Onchan Local Plan Order 2000 - Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 Planning History There are no previous planning applications which are considered relevant in the assessment and determination of this application. Proposal The application seeks approval for the creation of hard standing and new access. ## Representations ### Onchan Commissioners:- ### Approve Highway Division do not oppose subject to the imposition of the following condition:- The applicant shall contact the Network Operations Section of the Department of Transport prior to carrying out any works within the highway, including the installation of dropped kerbs. The Authority has received no privately written representations objecting to the application. ### Assessment / recommendation The proposal would provide a parking provision for the applicant's motor home, which current parks on the public highway. The hard standing area which would be located to the side of the dwelling would be well screened by the existing Leylandii trees ( 5 metres in height). The proposal would have no adverse impact upon the visual appearance of the dwelling or upon the street scene. The Highway Division have no objection subject to a condition; it is therefore considered the proposal would have no significant impacts upon highway safety.
