The proposed development comprises the extension of the existing storage compound that is located adjacent to the pavilion building. #### Planning History The application site has been the subject of a number of previous planning applications that has resulted in the development that currently exists on the application site. #### Representations Ramsey Town Commissioners have no objection to the planning application. The Department of Transport Highways Division do not oppose the planning application. #### Planning Policy In terms of local plan policy, the application site is located within a wider area of land that is designated as public open space under the Ramsey Local Plan 1999. In terms of strategic plan policy, although the Isle of Man Strategic Plan contains policies identifying general planning considerations that are applicable to the assessment of a planning application, it is considered that there are no specific policies within the plan that are material to the assessment of this current planning application. #### Assessment 1 October 2008 08/01414/B Page 1 of 2 The planning application seeks approval for the extension of the existing storage compound that is located adjacent to the pavilion building. The extension is understood to be required in order to provide more secure storage space for rugby club equipment. Visually, the proposed extension mirrors the appearance of the existing storage compound and is considered unobjectionable. The proposal is clearly linked to the use of the open space and its impact on the open space is considered limited.
