## Design Statement

This Application is an amendment to PA 07/02126/GB and 07/02127/CON, and shows the proposed lift repositioned from the rear of the building to the side.

Investigations into 6a The Parade, show that this building was amended when No. 6 was built to provide ancillary accommodation. This was subsequently altered when the building became an off-licence. The roof is not particularly old or unusual whereas the roof of No. 5 has many original timbers, which are being retained. It is therefore reasonable to re-site the lift to this position.

### Proposal

The lift is repositioned and the roof on No. 6a replaced at a higher level to allow the library to be built, as in PA 07/02127/CON.

The rear of the property is shown amended and many more of the earlier features are retained than on the present approval.
