### Officer's Report

#### The Site

The application site represents the curtilage of 74 Slieau Whallian Park, The Hope, St Johns. The property is a flat situated in a block which is on the western side of Slieau Whallian Park.

#### Planning Status

The site is located within an area identified as Predominantly Residential by the St. John’s Local Plan 1999. The site is not within a Conservation Area.

#### Planning History

There have been no previous planning applications considered relevant in the assessment and determination of this application.

#### Representations

German Parish Commissioners have indicated no objection to this planning application. The Department of Transport Highways Division have indicated no objection to this planning application. We have received no privately written representations regarding this planning application.

#### The Proposal

The application seeks approval for the installation of a UPVC door and window to replace the existing window on the east elevation. The proposed door is to be used as fire exit to conform with fire regulations.

### Assessment

The proposed replacement door and window will result in an increased aperture to the western elevation; however, the door is being installed to comply with fire regulations and is acceptable. It is judged that the proposed door and window will not have a detrimental impact to the flat, surrounding properties or the area in general.

### Recommendation

It is recommended that the application be permitted.
