Dear Dennis

Please find enclosed a copy of worksheet and information used for agricultural dwellings. You will firstly be expected to show the need for a house based on the number of labour hours associated with each enterprise in the business. As discussed on the phone, you have significantly higher hours justified than dwellings associated with the farm.

You will also need to show a functional requirement for having a dwelling on the farm itself. The need for assistance at calving, relief milking etc, combined with animal welfare considerations where livestock are maintained should make a strong case for having a dwelling on the farm itself.

Based on the approximate figures discussed over the phone, the standard labour requirement for your business can be calculated, see below:
