### Officer's Report

The application site is Castle Rushen High School. The proposal is to retain a portakabin adjacent to the synthetic pitch at the school. This portakabin was granted a temporary permission back in November 2003. The applicant considers it is desirable to have a permanent structure on the site. Due to funding requirements and access to term it may mean that it is sometime these plans come to any fruition. Therefore, the applicant is wishing for a further extension to the planning approval. The portakabin is not readily visible from Arbory Road. The portakabin is generally in a good state of repair. I consider the retention of the portakabin for a further temporary period would not impact significantly on the visual amenities of the locality. I therefore recommend that a temporary permission be granted.
