PROPOSAL The application proposes the erection of a water storage tank. REPRESENTATIONS Braddan Parish Commissioners:- No objection Highways Division:- No objection The Chief Fire Officer makes no comment on the merit of the proposed development but request that an informative note be attached to any approval decision notice. The IOM Water Authority makes no comment on the merit of the proposed development but request that an informative note be attached to any approval decision notice. The Drainage Division makes no comment on the merit of the proposed development but request that an informative note be attached to any approval decision notice. We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application. ## ASSESSMENT / RECOMMENDATION The proposal would be an acceptable addition to the site, due to the significant screening along the boundary of Peel Road, the significant ground level differences between the site and Peel Road (tank would be 4 metres below road level) and as the proposal would be within an area zoned as industrial, I therefore consider the proposal to be acceptable and for these reasons my recommendation is for an approval. ## PARTY STATUS I consider that the following meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status: Braddan Parish Commissioners Highways Division The Drainage Division I consider that the following parties that made representations to the planning application do not meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should not be afforded interested party status:- The Chief Fire Officer The IOM Water Authority Recommendation Recommended Decision: Permitted 19 October 2007 07/01683/B Page 2 of 4 ## Conditions and Notes for Approval / Reasons and Notes for Refusal C : Conditions for approval N : Notes attached to conditions R : Reasons for refusal - : Notes attached to refusals C 1. The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice. C 2. This approval relates to the submitted documents and drawings M4573/200 REV 0, M4573/201 REV 1 and M4573/202 REV 1 all received on 10th September 2007. C 3. There must be no discharge from the water storage tank to the River during times of high flows, any discharges must be under a controlled manner. It should be noted that it is an offence under Manx legislation to permit the discharge of polluting or harmful matter to any public sewers or watercourses. Appropriate measures must be taken by the developer/occupier of the premises to ensure compliance with the legislation. It is advised that pollution prevention measures are installed, the applicant is to contact the Environment Protection Unit at DLGE. N 1. Applicant to consult with the Fire Service with regard to all aspects of the proposal. N 2. A water main runs along the frontage of the property which may be susceptible to damage due to vehicles passing over it. The Applicant should contact the Water Authority to discuss protecting the main before construction work commences.
