Site

The property Ravenswood, 2 Coburg Road, Ramsey, is part of a pair of two storey semi-detached properties, which are located on the western side of Coburg Road.

Land Use Zoning

The property has been zoned under the Ramsey Local Plan Order 1998 as being within an area of predominately residential use; the site is not within a Conservation Area.

Proposal

The application proposes the installation of replacement windows.

We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.

Assessment / recommendation

The proposal, whilst not retaining the existing timer windows, does proposal to replace with windows with the same style of glazing bars and opening fixtures i.e. ~~slinging~~ slinging sash/casement). A number of properties along Coburg Road have already replaced the original windows with uPVC casement windows. Whilst the Authority would prefer for the original windows to be retained or replaced with timber windows, the site is not within a Conservation Area and I therefore consider the proposal to be acceptable in this location, and therefore I recommend the application be approved.
