Dear Sir,

**Demolition of Outbuildings and Erection of Garage and Utility Room**
**66 Murrays Road, Douglas (Amended)**

We live in the adjoining house to the applicant’s property.

We have examined the plans and there are one or two points which give us cause for concern. It is stated in the application that “the garage roof will be inaccessible from the dwelling”. However, this statement is somewhat contradicted by the specifications for the flat roof which states that the roof will be a fibre glass topped roof to suit recreational use. Our objection to the initial application was on the grounds that the roof garden would seriously affect privacy and light in the our backyard. If the garage roof of No.66 is to be used for “recreational use” these concerns are still applicable.

We would also be very concerned if the dividing boundary walls were heightened as that also would restrict light to our property which already has limited natural light.

We have no objection in principle to the applicant building his garage and utility room. However since the outbuildings have already been demolished it would seem that this application has in part been made retrospectively.
