The site is not within Ramsey Conservation Area. #### Proposal 10 May 2007 07/00531/B Page 1 of 3 The application proposes the installation of replacement windows to front and rear elevations. ### Representations Ramsey Town Commissioners:- No objection Highways Division:- Do not oppose S.P.M.C. & E.:- The Mooragh Promenade terraces have so far largely escaped the worst ravages of the window replacement operatives and we think a firm stand should be taken now to ensure that all replacements are vertical sliding sashes (of whatever material). We Object to top-hung sashes in such locations (and they will be particularly difficult to achieve where the heads are curved. Have they thought of that?) The Chief Fire Officer makes no comment on the merit of the proposed development but request that an informative note be attached to any approval decision notice. We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application. ### Assessment / Recommendation The existing timber sliding sash and uPVC casement windows are in a poor state of repair. Although it would be preferable that sliding sash windows be installed, the site is not within a Conservation Area and the installation of new windows will enhance the appearance of the existing building and for these reasons the proposals would seem acceptable in these locations and therefore my recommendation is for an approval. ### Party Status I consider that the following meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status: The Ramsey Commissioners Highways Division I consider that the following parties that made representations to the planning application do not meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should not be afforded interested party status: Chief Fire Officer S.P.M.C. & E ### Recommendation Recommended Decision: Permitted Date of Recommendation: 10.05.2007 C : Conditions for approval N : Notes attached to conditions R : Reasons for refusal - : Notes attached to refusals C 1. This property falls within the remit of the Fire Precautions (Flats) Regulations 1996. The applicant is required to consult the Flats Inspection Team at the Fire Safety Department with regard to the windows to the rear of the premises, adjacent to the external fire escape.
