# Proposed Porch Description

## Proposed Porch, Disabled Wc And Ramp

### Union Mills Methodist Church

The existing porch is to be demolished and increased in size to accommodate a doorway leading to a disabled wc from a common area in between the chapel and the Hall. The wc is to be formed within the hall area reducing the size of the existing vestry. A 1in 12 ramp is proposed across the frontage of the chapel with access from the existing side private driveway with steps from the existing pathway leading to Strang Road.

The design of the porch is to reflect the existing porch with red brick arches to the windows and door, a precast concrete cornice to the parapet and the render finished to match existing.

The existing church has the benefit of its own private access driveway with a large rear car park, but access to the present wc’s, which are not disabled is inappropriate and awkward.
