#### Site

The site of the proposal is the covered car park at the Fort Anne Offices, South Quay, Douglas. The site is on the southern side of the South Quay. The site has been zoned under the Douglas Local Plan Order as being within a area predominately office use.

#### Proposal

The application proposes the extension to the caretakers store within the ground floor area of the covered car park.

The proposed caretakers store will have a width of 4.8 metres and a length of 5.5 metres. On the northeast elevation it is proposed to erect a Manx stone wall and two windows to match the existing office block. The southwest elevation the block work will have a rendered finish to match the existing. Within this elevation the application proposes the installation of two windows.

## Representations

The Department of Transport Highways Division has considered the application and has no objection subject to the following condition:- Three additional off street parking spaces are provided within the curtilage of the property. We have received no privately written representations objecting to the proposal.

## Assessment / recommendation

The proposal is a minor extension, which will not have any adverse impacts to the detriment to the surrounding area. For this reason the proposal would seem appropriate in this location and therefore my recommendation is for an approval. I consider that the following meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status: The Department of Transport Highways Division
