Dear Miss Callow

**PA 06/238 Installation of uPVC top opening casement windows to replace existing to front and gable elevations. 1 Victoria Place, Douglas**

This Victorian property occupies a prominent site at the junction of Victoria Road and Victoria Place. It was quite obvious that the present windows are incongruous and here is an opportunity to rectify the situation.

We have to say however that the statement on the application form “all existing timber windows to be replaced in white uPVC” doesn’t actually say which windows are to be replaced. The photograph is taken from too far away to establish which are timber and which aren’t.

Given the location of this property and its proximity to the Registered properties in Victoria Terrace we would ask that the windows to be replaced should be of the sliding sash variety.

Yours truly
