### Officer's Report

## THE APPLICATION SITE AND PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT

The application site comprises of the curtilage of 52 Parliament Street in Ramsey, which is occupied on Barclays Bank.

The proposed development comprises of alterations to the front elevation of the property to allow the construction of a new level entrance that enables better disabled access.

## PLANNING HISTORY

There are no previous planning applications that I consider to be specifically relevant to the assessment of this current planning application.

REPRESENTATIONS Ramsey Town Commissioners have no objection to the planning application. The Department of Transport Highways Division considers there to be no adverse traffic impacts arising from the proposed development. PLANNING POLICY

The application site is within the recognised town centre of Ramsey under the Ramsey Local Plan. There are no policies within the written statement that accompanies the local plan that I consider to be specifically relevant to the assessment of the planning application.

### Assessment

I consider the actual level of development contained within the proposal to be relatively modest and to be without any adverse impact on public or private amenity. The provision of improved disabled access is clearly beneficial and should be supported.

I recommend that the planning application be approved.

### Party Status

I consider that all parties that made representations to the planning application meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status.

### Recommendation

**Recommended Decision:** Permitted
