### Officer's Report

#### The Application Site And Proposed Development

The application site comprises of the curtilage of Albert Road School in Ramsey.

The proposed development comprises of the formation of a new vehicular access and car parking within the application site.

#### Planning History

There have been no previous planning applications that I consider to be relevant to the assessment of this current planning application.

#### Representations

Ramsey Town Commissioners have no objection to the proposed development.

The Department of Transport Highways Division advise that they consider there to be no adverse traffic impacts arising from the proposed development.

The Disability Access Office make no comment on the specific merit of the proposed development but request that the needs of disabled access are considered.

### Planning Policy

The application site is within the area designated as being town centre mixed use under the Ramsey Local Plan. There are no policies within the Ramsey Local Plan that I consider to be specifically relevant to the assessment of this planning application.

### Assessment

I consider the impact of the proposed development to be relatively modest and that the only real material planning consideration is the impact on highway safety. Given that the Highway Authority consider there to be no adverse traffic impact I am satisfied that the proposed development is acceptable. Accordingly, I recommend that the planning application be approved.

### Party Status

I consider that all parties who made representations to the planning application meet the criteria of Government Circular 1/06 and should be afforded interested party status.
