The site is designated as Primary School on the Isle of Man Planning Scheme (Development Plan) Order 1982. Proposed here is the installation of disabled persons’ access ramps and handrails on existing external doors on the west, north and south of the building and the widening of an existing doorway on the eastern elevation. The existing building is a modern, flat-roofed structure on which the proposed installations will not look out of place. Malew Parish Commissioners indicate that they have no objection to the proposal. Prior to the commencement of work on site, the line of the existing sewerage must be identified and all sewers protected during the course of construction. No part of the proposed development may be carried out within 3m of any sewer.
