### Officer's Report

The application proposes the amalgamation of apartments of 18 and 19 Douglas Head Apartments, Douglas, which are a pair of apartments on the east elevation of the apartment block on the second floor. The existing apartments are 2 bedroom apartments; the applicant has proposed to install a self closing single door between the two existing properties, which in doing so removes one of the bedrooms of apartment 19 and forming an inner hall. The existing access into the two apartments will remain and the fire alarm system will be linked to each apartment.

The Douglas Corporation have considered the application and have no objection. The Fire Safety Department have considered the applicant consider the proposal and have recommend the applicant contact the fire and safety department. We have received no privately written representations objecting to the application.

The proposal would seem appropriate in this location; no external alterations have been proposed to the apartments only the installation of a single door which is only a minor planning matter which in this case is acceptable. For these reasons my recommendation is therefore for an approval.

C 2. This approval relates to the submitted documents, and shown in drawings 01 and 02 all received on 10th November 2005.

N 1. Applicant to consult with the Fire Safety Department as the premises falls within the scope of the Isle of Man Fire Precautions Flat Regulations 1996.
