### Officer's Report

The application proposals the installation of 6 VRV air conditioning units on the flat roof of Victory House which is a 5 storey building along Prospect Hill. The existing air conditioning units, which are currently on the side wall of the building, are to be removed.

The air conditioning units have a height from roof level of 1.85 metres. The units are 0.3 metres higher than the parapet wall which exists. There are a number of telecom masts and a plant room which exist on the roof at present.

The Douglas Corporation have no objection to the application. We have received no private representations for this application.

The proposal would seem appropriate in this location as it will not be seen from the street scene as the building is one of the tallest in the area, and the new air conditioning units will replace the existing conditioning units on the side wall which are visible and will be removed, so the proposal will also improve the appearance of the building and that of the surrounding area. Therefore my recommendation is for an approval.
