This application relates to a retail unit on the corner of Christian Street and Bridge Street in Peel. It is within the Peel Conservation Area.

The proposal is to change the use of the former music shop to an office /showroom for eventhire. Part of the ground floor will be used as the office space and part as the showroom and stroage space.

The area to be used as office space is relatively small and includes an area for a showroom to display goods. The type of use is one which will attract visiting members of the public, and as such it is

considered to be an acceptable use within the town centre. Since it is within the Conservation Area a condition relating to signage should be attached to ensure that the external appearance of the building is not adversey affected.

C 3. Details of any signs or advertisements which are to be displayed on the building in connection with the proposed use, must first be submitted to and approved by the Planning Committee.

N 1. The Chief Fire Officer recommends that the applicant consults the fire safety department to discuss the fire precautions.
