OFFICE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT
AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Dear Ms Callow,

Rushen Parish Commissioners have considered the following planning applications and their views are as follows:-

a) 05/00305. Southern Civic Amenity Site, Castletown Road Southern Civic Amenity Site Board. Installation of 5 flood lights. 5 x 8 metre galvanised steel columns. This application is necessary to meet health and Safety Standards both for the staff and general public using the Site. It is only intended to use the lighting as and when the climatic conditions demand it. The scheme has been designed with a view to keeping light pollution to a minimum.
Approved

b) 05/0284. Honna Cottage, Honna Hill. Mrs J Lever. Replace existing timer windows with white uPVC.
Approved.

c) 05/00259. Cairnsmore, 7 Viking Hill, Ballakillowey R W Pullein. Extensions to provide additional living accommodation (comprising en-suite bedroom and playroom also conservatory and extended garage) plus additional double garage and drive thereto. The plans submitted are of extremely poor quality. I tried to contact the planning officer and left 2 messages on her voice mail, an e-mail and also spoke with someone else in the planning office as I did not consider the plans of sufficient quality to enable my Commissioners to give an opinion on the application. I received no reply back from the officer so I must presume that they are considered sufficient.
Rushen Commissioners have approved the application but would like to point out the difficulty they had with understanding what is to be built – the large size of the plot helped with their decision.

d) 05/00263. Greenfields, Old School Road. Mr & Mrs Duquemin. Loft extension to provide two bedrooms and bathroom. Front bay window revised to provide full glazed picture window with no sub-division.
Approved

e) 05/00256. Woodlands, Ballagawne Road. Mr & Mrs Chadwick. En-suite bathroom with dormer window to bedroom 5.
Approved

f) 05/0363. Sound Farm, Mr W Callister. Erect a lean-to extension to existing barn.
Approved.

g) 05/0384. West View, Cregneash. Manx National Heritage. Replacement of decayed single glazed timer casement and sash windows with double glazed timber sliding sash windows, relocation of s. & v.p. internally and door replacement.
Approved

h) 05/0373. Cloverdale, Glen Chass. Mr S White. Build a wall between the garden of Cloverdale and the access passage to neighbour’s property
Approved.

Yours sincerely,
Gillian Kelly (Mrs)
Clerk
