### Officer's Report

The site represents the domestic curtilage of an existing detached property on the northern side of Birch Hill Crescent, the peripheral spine road through Birch Hill.

Proposed here is the extension of the existing front porch to the left hand side of the bungalow to form a small room. The appearance of the porch is not objectionable. however there is an objection from the FPO on the basis of means of escape although it appears that this is due to the fact that the small room is now classed as a habitable room rather than a porch and the risk of fire is greater and would block the means of escape from the property. There is probably a rear door but this is not shown.

The FPO's concerns can be addressed for planning purposes by a note.
