# Officer Notes on Ballig Barn

Pulling barn, West Baldwin. AA 05/0331. Mr. Morris has planning approval for the conversion and extension of the barn as above. The neighbor across the road objected and withdrew their request following an appeal following discussion about landscaping. It would appear that they have general agreement in the form of the sketch scheme attached although it has not been discussed with me. I would have preferred not to have a wide and straight driveway up to a garage which will be plainly visible. The garage also appears to be down by 5m which is too big and the wrong proportion. The garage, if necessary, should be in front of the barn building, utilizing the footprint of the stone shed if necessary. Mr. Betht's scheme demonstrates little regard for trying to retain the existing and rural setting of the barn or the general principle of keeping groups of building together and as low as possible. I will write to both indicating the above.
