This application relates to an office building on the corner of Athol Street and Upper Church Street.

The application is to enlarge an existing ground floor window to match an adjacent window installing a timber framed sash unit and to replace two existing 500 x 400 rooflights with two 1000 x 1000 velux units.

The replacement window at ground floor will match the size of those already in this elevation of the building and would be an improvement on the existing smaller casement window. There are a mixture of glazing patterns on this elevation of the building and whilst it may be preferable for the small georgian panes to be installed which would be closer in appearance to the original windows in the building, since these are currently not in the existing window or the one adjacent to it would not be reasonable to request this. The larger rooflights will have a minimal alteration on the appearance of the building and are acceptable.
