Dear Sir

**PA04/02637/B – Creation of vehicle hardstanding in front garden of dwelling – Greenland, 23 Albany Road, Peel**

I refer to our letter dated 20 January 2005 regarding the above planning application.

The above mentioned application has been considered by the Network Planning Section and the following observations will be forwarded to the Planning Committee of the Department of Local Government and the Environment as the response of the Director of Highways on behalf of the DOT Highways Client Group.

I can now confirm that the response of the Highways Division of the Department of Transport is:

#### Objection:

1. Use of the parking space would entail reversing onto or off the highway, contrary to the interests of road safety. Albany Road is a busy district distributor.

2. It appears from the application drawing that there is barely sufficient space for an average sized car.

Yours faithfully

K C ASHCROFT
Network Planning Manager

It should be noted that these observations relate only to matters affecting the highway and do not in any way prejudice any decisions which may be reached in relation to Town and Country Planning or Bye-Laws.

cc The Secretary to the Planning Committee
