# Planning Committee Shop Window Report

Report to Planning Committee on 24th June 2005 Application no: 04/02073/C Proposal: Relocation of existing laundrette beneath adjacent restaurant to vacant shop premises Address: The Old Curiosity Shoppe Laxey Applicant: Mr. Richard Henthorn This application was approved at Planning Committee on 28th January 2005 and then approved again at review on 29th April. The shop is located within the Laxey Conservation Area and one of the conditions attached was that prior to commencement of the approved use there should be submitted to and approved by the Planning Committee details of how the shop window is to be treated and of all signage and advertisements which are to be displayed. Details of this have now been submitted to the Planning Committee. The intention is that there be no advertisements or paper placed on the window frames with the exception of an open/closed sign, and any advertisements will be mounted and stood on the deep window sill. A new sign to replace the previous ‘old curiosity shop’ sign will be placed above the window to read ‘Laxey Laundrette’ in purple. The proposals as set out in the letter dated 6th February 2005 appear to be acceptable. The Conservation Officer has seen them and has no objections.
