# Conservation Officer Report

Planning Report and Recommendations General Report Site Visited YES/NO 1. The site comprises the curtilage of a toward house on Summer Hill. 2. Within the Promenades Conservation Area. 3. The application proposes the installation of replacement windows and door at the front. 4. The existing windows and door are of aluminum and are inappropriate. 5. Proposed are PVC-framed casements with central transoms. The door is illustrated in a "thumb-nail" sketch on the form. Signed Date 21/9/04 Summary of objections/views HA and LA - no objections Recommendations Approve/Refuse Refers to Conservation Officer. See Mr. Moore's report of 21/9. Split decision accordingly. Signed Date 24/9 General Report Site Visited ☐ YES / ☐ NO No. 4 Summer Hill lies within the Promenade Conservation Area. The proposed replacement of the existing PVC windows with new units with the central transform. In addition, it is proposed to replace the poor aluminum front door with a PVC unit. My preference would always be to encourage the re-instatement of the original windows (form and pattern. In this case) painted timber sliding back. Given that the whole terrace sports badly detailed PVC windows the application can be seen as an enhancement. I would however, request that the door and screen are re-introduced. The door screen should be painted timber to watch it. Summary of objections/vilews Signed: [Signature] Date: 21/9/4 neizubaur No. 3 (Ragwezhi) with a more suitable fair panelled door, the top two panels of which could be glazed. Recommendations Approve/Refuse Spit Approve windows - ensure arched profile is maintained. Refuse front door and screen. - See note. Signed: [Signature] Date: 21/9/4
