Dear Sir Re: Planning Application 03/00865/B. Erection of fence to roadside boundary, 2 Coronation Court, Ramsey.

My property is directly opposite the above site works and I therefore have a concern as to what is being sought for approval.

I observe from the planning details that the fence is to consist of 5 x 6ft x 3ft wooden panels topped with 1ft6" trellis-work and assuming 3ft is the height, the overall measurement would give the impression of a 4ft6" high fence attached to posts 5ft high above ground level, as viewed from Coronation Court. However, on the Bowring Road side there already exists a 4ft high stone retaining wall and from this elevation the overall structure would be 8ft6" high.

The type of fencing in question carries a risk element in relation to wind pressure and on a main vehicle and pedestrian route must be considered unsuitable, not only in this aspect, but as being out of character with the district and creating a displeasing visual impact on neighbouring properties.

I trust my comments and objection will receive due consideration.

Yours faithfully

John Corlett
