### The Site

The site represents the curtilage of Isle Of Man Prison, Coast Road, Jurby, which is located on the eastern side of the Coast Road and southwest of Jurby Village.

### Planning Status

The application site is within an area recognised as being an area of 'airfield', under the Isle of Man Development Plan Order 1982. The site is not within a Conservation Area; but is within an area zoned as High Landscape or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance.

### Planning History

There are previous planning applications, however none of which are considered relevant in the assessment and determination of this application.

PROPOSAL The application seeks approval for the erection of a cycle shelter in staff car park. The proposal would have a width of 9.6 metres, a depth of 2.4 metres and a height of 2.1 metres. The proposal would be constructed with a steel frame, with polycarbonate side and roofing sheets.

REPRESENTATIONS The Authority has received no other privately written representations objecting to the application.

ASSESSMENT The proposal would be a minor development which would have no adverse impact upon the appearance of the surrounding area. The proposal would only be overly apparent when entering the staff car park.

RECOMMENDATION It is considered that the proposal would comply with the relevant planning policies of The Isle of Man Strategic Plan (20th June 2007), for the reasons set out in this report, accordingly, it is recommended that the application be approved.
