Dear Chris,

This stretch of road is de-restricted, however, due to its rural nature vehicle speeds would be around 20mph. Therefore Stopping Sight Distances are used to determine the visibility splays in this location.

The applicant has endeavoured to improve the visibility of this access by reducing the wall height and therefore the Department did not object to this application.

Regards

Andrea

Dear Andrea,

I was just wondering what the required visibility splays are for this stretch of road? The reason for asking is the site, in a different location, has had a previous refused application (at appeal) and the visibility required was 2 x 23m. If this is the case, they can still provide these splays, however from our point of view this will result in possible more trees to be lost which was a concern last time.

Regards

Chris
