SITE The application site is a two storey dwellinghouse which is situated on the north western side of Palatine Road. The site is located within a predominantly residential area. The application site is not within a Conservation Area.

PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT The application is for the installation of uPVC doors to the front and rear of the dwellinghouse. PLANNING STATUS AND RELEVANT POLICIES Within the adopted Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007, the following policies are considered to be relevant in the determination of this application: General Policy 2.

PLANNING HISTORY The following previous applications are considered relevant in the consideration of this application: 08/00315/B - Installation of replacement windows - granted 27th May 2008

Douglas Corporation has not objected to the application. ASSESSMENT

In respect of the front door, the application site is not within a Conservation Area. There are other uPVC doors within the street. It is considered the proposed front door will not detract from the general character of the area and will not adversely affect the visual amenities of the locality.

In respect of the rear door, the door will not visible from a public thoroughfare and therefore will not cause any harm to the visual amenities of the area.

**RECOMMENDATION** It is recommended that planning permission be granted subject to conditions. **PARTY STATUS**

The Department of Transport and the local authority are, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered "interested persons" and as such should be afforded party status.
