**RECEIVED ON**

Ms J Callow
Secretary to the Planning Committee
Office of Planning
Murray House
Mount Havelock
Douglas.

**REPRESENTATIVE** Dear Ms Callow, Rushen Parish Commissioners have considered the following planning applications and their views are:

a) **10/1099. Field 411371 Ballanard House, Ballnahowe. J & F Holdings.** Erection of stable block. Amended plans which have been advertised.

Rushen Commissioners are of the opinion that this building is too large for such a prominent position. The proposed building, even though being faced with stone, would still give the impression of a large building sitting in a field on a hillside and would be very visible from the surrounding countryside. As the access to the field is through the 'yard' of Ballanard House (it was once a farm) being between the house and the two storey stone barn it is presumed that it is to be associated with the residency of that house (which is not lived in at present). The proposed stables should therefore be situated closer to the main buildings and thus incorporated as part of the whole site. It would then be much less visible from the surrounding area.

b) **10/1752. Creg y Shee & Cummal Beg, Cregneash. RETROSPECTIVE. MNH.** Replacement like for like of 5 front elevation sash windows and front entrance to Creg y Shee and 5 front elevation sash windows and front entrance door to Cummal Beg.

No objection.

c) 10/1753 Weaver's Cottage, Cregneash. RETROSPECTIVE. MNH. Replacement like for like of 2 ground floor front elevation windows and 1 round headed window in the west gable end.

No objection.

d) 10/1799. Greystones, Cregneash. MNH. Replace front entrance door to match existing; replace windows/frames to east side of front porch and south-east gable kitchen window to match existing. All replacements in timber.

No objection.

e) In Principle 10/1800. Robin Hill farm, Cronk-y-Dhooney, Ballakilpheric. Mr & Mrs MacQuillan. Replacement of redundant agricultural shed with single detached dwelling.

No objection to the principle. It is noted that the proposed dwelling would be built further back on the site and the lane would be wider - which would be very helpful to the refuse haulier who sometimes has difficulty negotiating this corner.

f) 10/1815. Allotments, Sandfield, Mount Gawne Road, Pot St Mary Commissioners. To erect up to 25 sheds one off on the north east corner of individual allotment sites (maximum footprint of any shed not to exceed 8ft long x 6ft wide).

Rushen Commissioners request a deferment of any decision on this. They are to have a meeting on 10th January with Port St Mary Commissioners and representatives of the Allotment Society and Committee to discuss the ongoing problems there have been with this site. They will then consider the planning application at their next monthly Board Meeting on 19th January. Hopefully all the problems can be solved and either this application or future ones can be approved without any objections.

Yours sincerely

Gillian Kelly (Mrs)
Clerk
