For the Attention of Mr Peter Cain.

Dear Mr Cain

RECEIVED ON
05 DEC 2013
DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY
AUTOR INSTITUTE

Summary of pre-development site meeting: Trees to the rear of K C Foods/P&B Properties, Hills Meadow, Douglas. 16th November 2011.

I write further to our site meeting earlier this morning.

Approximately 15 multi-stemmed trees (mainly multi-stemmed sycamore) stand to the rear of the K C Foods/P&B Properties warehouse buildings at Hills Meadow. These form part of the boundary with the steam railway line. The trees in question are relatively small diameter and about 20/30ft tall. They appear to be largely self-seeded and some seem to have grown from old stumps.

It is understood that the proposed development could involve the removal of two multi-stemmed trees and the pruning back of several others.

It is unlikely that this Department would object to these proposals (extension of buildings) on account of the trees. The trees are not Registered and their visual amenity value is limited. This means that whilst a felling licence would, under normal circumstances, be required before felling any tree, permission is not required for pruning work (e.g. removal of overhanging branches).

If you include information of what you propose to do with regard to the trees with your planning application then permission for any tree work you describe will be automatic on approval of that application by the Planning Committee.

You may wish to refer to our meeting and include this email in support of your Planning Application.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.

Regards

Doug Chalk</generalenquiries@kcfoods.im></doug.chalk@gov.im>
