# Braddan Commissioners Planning Response

From: Phil Barron [phil@braddan.gov.im] Sent: 08 June 2010 14:41 To: Faragher, Paula; Dudley, Cath; Connan, Marie; Kennaugh, Sarah; Callow, Jo (DoLGE) Subject: Planning Applications - Commissioners Meetings - 25th May 2010

Dear Jo,

Please find below the Commissioners decisions in relation to planning applications considered by them at their meeting on the 25th May 2010.

The Commissioners had no objection to the following planning applications:

- PA10 00476 - Mr A Thompson - Erection of a maintenance shed - Land Adjacent to Nobles Hospital Ballafletcher
- PA10 00479 - IoM Post Office - Re-roofing of Sorting Office - Spring Valley Industrial Estate
- PA10 00482 - Mr J Jones - Conversion of the first floor area above a garage to a flat - 171 Fairways Drive Mount Murray
- PA10 00490 - Manx Wildlife Trust - Installation of information boards - Marine Drive Port Soderick
- PA10 00493 - Mr A McGee - Alterations, erection of extensions and renovation of existing dwelling - Ballamona Farmhouse Old Castletown Road
- PA10 00560/GB - Manx Wildlife Trust - Erection of one set of pedestal mounted binoculars - The Ornamental Gateway Marine Drive
- PA10 00561 CON - Manx Wildlife Trust - Pedestal Mounted binoculars - Marine Drive Port Soderick
- PA10 00611/B - Mr R Dennett - Erection of a two storey extension to dwelling house - 158 Fairways Approach Mount Murray

PA10 00662 - Union Mills Methodist Church - Rear/side extension to provide rear pedestrian access

The Commissioners had an objection to the following planning application:

- PA10 00574 - Mr R Garfield - Erection of a detached dwelling - Land Adjacent to 3 River Heights Braddan. It was the Commissioners opinion that this would breach Environment Policy 42 as they consider it to be backland development. They feel that any building on this plot would be detrimental to users of the Heritage Trail. Any development would act as an unacceptable precedent to other owners of land adjacent to the Heritage Trail.

I trust the above meets with your Committees' approval.

Yours sincerely

Phil
