Dear Sirs,

### Planning Application

**PA 10/0391/B** – Erection of extension to rear elevation of dwelling house, 105 Ballamaddrell, Port Erin.

The Drainage Division of the Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority has assessed the above planning application and would like to submit the following comments to your Planning Committee.

**No Objection** subject to the following conditions:-

1) There must be NO discharge of surface water (including that from roofs and paved areas) from this proposed development to any foul drainage system(s) so as to comply with the requirements of the Department of Transport Drainage Division and the Sewerage Act 1999.

The application states that the surface water from the proposed development is to be discharged to the "existing drainage". If this "existing drainage" discharges (directly or indirectly) to the foul sewerage system then it should be noted that an alternative means of surface water disposal must be provided.

2) Public sewerage crosses this site. The line of the sewer(s) must be identified before development work commences. The sewer(s) must be fully protected whilst all building works are being carried out. No part of the proposed development may be constructed, nor any trees planted, within two metres of any public sewer either at the time of construction or at any time in the future.

In the event that this application is approved I should be grateful if the above comments could be incorporated in the approval notice.

Yours sincerely,

*John Kneen*
