## Department Of Infrastructure ### Memorandum To: Miss Jennifer Chance, Interim Director of Planning & Building Control From: Mr Edmond Riley, Planning Officer Subject: Condition Discharge Date: 11th April 2016 --- ### Re: 14/01057/B – 6 Marina Road, Douglas The above application was approved by the Council of Ministers following a favourable assessment by a Planning Inspector. The application was approved with *inter alia* the following condition attached: > "A drawing on the scale of 1:20 indicating the precise dimensions and positioning of the outside seating area shall be submitted to and approved in writing be the Department of Infrastructure (Planning). The seating, tabling, advertisement stands, signs and banners shall thereafter not be positioned otherwise. > "Reason: In the interest of protecting highway safety." A plan showing the positioning of four tables with four accompanying seats to each, along with six barriers and eight accompanying steel posts, has been provided at a scale of 1:20. Also submitted separately is a drawing at 1:20 giving the size and appearance of the banner, which shows an advert where one was not shown on the drawing originally submitted. (The applicant has been advised that no advertisement consent exists for this, and that she must seek this separately. It would be worth highlighting this again in any letter sent to the applicant in respect of the discharge of this Condition.) The plan is considered sufficient on which to discharge the Condition. It shows the seating area situated away from the centre of the pedestrian area and also in sufficient detail to allow proper monitoring of the location and position of those tables and chairs as well as the barriers between the posts.
