Dear Miss Callow,

P.A.

This is probably not contrary to any policies but the introduction of yet more professional / financial services at ground floor level is disappointing. They are uninteresting appearances and contribute a reduced shopping experience. This may not seem important whilst there are too many vacant shops but the environment might change. However once the majority of shop frontages have gone it will be harder to attract new shops to this visual desert.

I really cannot see why they need a frontage in a retail area. Does anyone see these places and suddenly decide "oh I need that"? No, they decide in advance that they need these services and then specifically go to them, probably to an appointment.

I have no direct interest in the land or application, only a professional academic interest.

Yours sincerely,

Geoffrey Clark
