# Planning Statement Extension Request

Prior to submitting these plans I met with the community safety unit to consult with a crime reduction officer. During this meeting it was suggested to ask for an extension of our opening hours to help future-proof the business. This would be until 10pm. This would allow us to open over busy periods i.e. TT and MGP while customer demands are there, not only this we will be able to offer our space out for children's birthday parties and events, as well as staying open later for late night shopping in the winter.

Therefore I would like to ask for an extension for our opening hours from the current 8pm closing times to 10pm.

Although we do not plan to open this late I feel the opportunity to do so will help with the future of the business.

I have also met with Douglas Town Centre Management who are on board with the idea and agree that this community focused space is something that is much needed in Douglas.

This unit has been empty for a number of years now as have many of the units on castle street. By opening this business it gives the chance to bring a bit of life down the castle street end of town and will help with regeneration.

I have spoken to the tourism board and currently have a Tourist information area in shake lounge at present. With taking on another unit I can make this area bigger and focus more on it as to offer this service to tourists to save them the walk to the welcome centre if they are staying down this end.
